"NAM (Northwest Assistance Ministry) is a nonprofit, community-based, multi-program social service agency that strives to supply basic human needs through neighbors helping neighbors." NAM website.
Founded by a coalition of 10 churches in 1983 with a beginning budget of $50,000 NAM has grown to serve 130,000 clients in 2007-2008 with social services and programs.
Currently Northwest Assistance Ministries is looking for additional volunteers for the upcoming holiday season. Volunteers are needed to sort food and toys and to collect food. Donations of toys and age appropriate items are need for children and teens.

NAM also provides the Rotary Learning Center and Workforce Development programs that assits clients in obtaining a GED, learning English, literacy projects, obtaining a better job and prepare for Citizenship.
